I'm a biologist – I have always been fascinated by the vast array of gobsmackingly beautiful, crazy and weird life forms on this planet. While I specialized for a lot of years on the health one of the most fascinating creatures – human beings – I love it all. I'm now working on the health of the oceans, without which the health of the entire planet is in dire trouble.

I'm a writer – I write for work and I write for play. I work for an organisation that fights hard to protect the life on this planet. I'm the researcher and writer for the oceans team. I love to write stories and poetry and promise myself regularly that I will find more time to do this.

I'm a networker – I help people meet other people who have similar dreams and inspirations, and who can learn from and help each other.

I'm an activist – I believe in talking action to protect the environment and save lives, and to find solutions for using the earth's resources fairly and sustainably.

I'm a traveller – born to English parents in Zimbabwe, Africa, I grew up in Australia and have been living in London, England for 6 years. I love visiting new places to learn about  people, history, food, art, and to see the wild stuff. Now that I have pledged to keep flying to a minimum, travelling will be even more of an adventure!

I'm an optimist – Despite all the hell that's been let loose on the planet, there's a whole lot of heaven going on and a whole lot more being created. I'm happy, I love my job, I love my life, I love my partner, I love my family, I love my friends and I love this beautiful planet and its creator.

I am a climber –  I love it all – the ropes, the knots, the hardware; emptying my head to focus on movement, balance and problem solving; the buildings I shouldn't be on; indoor climbing walls…  Most of all I love dancing up a warm, weathered, cliff-face in the sunshine!
